You can now combine your Dark Hedges Experience Game of Thrones tour with the new Game of Thrones: The Touring Exhibition which makes it’s UK and Ireland debut visit between 11th April 2019 through to 1st September 2019.

Visiting the Dark Hedges Experience, this fully guided tour of the Dark Hedges is included, bringing you the story of the famous hedges, the myths and facts of this iconic location.

Our Dark Hedges Experience Game of Thrones Tour  is a great value way to discover the best film locations used in the hit HBO series, Game of Thrones. This tour will visit some of the best-known film locations used in the series. For a more in-depth Game of Thrones Experience, we would recommend our Game of Thrones Premium tour which includes admission to the Giant’s Causeway Visitors Centre and crossing Carrick-a-Rede Rope bridge.

Designed by GES Events in collaboration with HBO® Global Licensing, the dramatic exhibition combines costumes, authentic props and majestic settings from all seven seasons to create an interactive and immersive Game of Thrones® experience like no other.

The exhibition will be located at the TEC Belfast which is in the footprint of the legendary Titanic Studios, where much of the series was filmed over a 10 year period. Fans will be able to authentically immerse themselves in Westeros and Essos, as well as relive the trials and tribulations of those who struggle for survival in the shadow of the Iron Throne, ahead of the highly anticipated season eight release.

The exhibition will give fans the experience of a lifetime with an up-close and personal look at the artistry and craftsmanship behind the Emmy award-winning series, as well as the opportunity to:

  • Experience the wintery landscapes of the North and the tree-lined pathway of the Kingsroad
  • View a garrison of Unsullied warriors and the iconic costumes of House Targaryen
  • Step into the House of Black and White
  • Explore Castle Black, the home of the Night’s Watch
  • Battle for the Iron Throne

  • Check in at 09.45am
  • Depart Belfast at 10.00am
  • Carrickfergus Castle (Photo Stop)
A medieval castle as impressive and memorable as any in found in Westeros!  The pageantry, chivalry and the monarchy of the time all played a part in Carrickfergus Castle's incredible history! It being built in the same time zone as the HBO series is set, makes this castle an absolute must see first stop. The sieges, the murders and the executions carried out here all connect this incredible piece of medieval architecture directly to the series!
  • Carnlough
Series six saw Carnlough harbour feature for the first time. This harbour although built in the nineteenth century during the famine years, still retains an olde world charm, which meant that it didn't seem out of place when it first appeared in Game of Thrones. Few go swimming in the harbour today, but there was a time when "a girl just might"!
  • Cushendun
This area has many strong links with the series! It is a stunning coastal location with incredibly rugged yet beautiful geological features! What happened in these Cushendun caves took many committed fans by surprise.  Melisandre's shadow baby was born here and for a while this area was very "dark and full of terrors"
  • The Dark Hedges Experience
Learn about the history and mythology of the faerie trail, experiencing an in-depth guided tour of The Dark Hedges and surrounding estate. Your dedicated guide will reel you back through the years on this stunning location and explain how it weaves it’s magic into the Game of Thrones story. Enjoy hearing about the history of the famous ‘Dark Hedges Doors’ where you will end your tour with a photo opportunity at the ‘7th door’! You may have escaped the scheming and duplicity of the capital!  However, escaping by way of the "Kings Road" has its own dangers. Beware the "Grey Lady," for in reality, Melisandre has nothing on her!
  • Lunch stop at The Hedges Hotel (optional)
  • Giant’s Causeway
The Giant’s Causeway is Northern Ireland's very own "Eighth wonder of the World."  No eloquent description will ever do it justice!  Only seeing it is believing. The Giants and Fairies that inhabit this area in Irish mythology make their Game of Thrones equivalents look more like Darby O'Gill and the little people. *Please note, there is no access to the visitor centre on this tour.
  • Dunluce
This now-ruined medieval castle was the inspiration for many local fantasy writers! It's cruel past, the enmity between wealthy families and the ruthless resolution of disputes gives Dunluce castle more than a passing resemblance to "the Dreadfort" or "Harrenhal"!  It is an ideal, if somewhat chilling location for a photo stop!  This Ulster Dreadfort has endured turmoil and murder every bit as horrific as any of the castles of Westeros...
